Boccaccesca is an annual gourmet wine festival that draws countless visitors to the narrow medieval streets of Certaldo Alto.

Tuscan wines such as Chianti Classico or Brunello di Montalcino are legendary and tastings take place during the four days of the festival, with renowned sommeliers helping visitors choose and appreciate. In addition, there is one stall after another with delicacies from the region, operated by local shopkeepers. A very important ingredient of Tuscan cuisine is bread, taste here Tuscan bread with raisins or rosemary.
Also try the delicious soup of bread, beans, cabbage and vegetables, and of course various antipasti including the typical salami and of course the best prosciutto. In the fresh autumn, hot food is of course always welcome and this is the chance to taste the best and farthest game, prepared in a Tuscan way, try dishes of hare, deer or even wild boar or a Fiorentina branch. The festival offers not only food and wine, but also cooking competitions and demonstrations by famous Italian chefs. You’ll enjoy watching medieval re-enactments that bring to life all the splendor of the Renaissance. Children will also be entertained.
