Hey everybody! Can we talk about summer vacations for a moment? I mean, we just wrapped up "Ferragosto" the Italian equivalent of "Mid-August Holidays", so it's basically a countdown to the end of summer now. Vacationers are packing up their bags as we speak – I imagine them going, “Ciao!” and fading into the horizon. As much as I loved having everyone around, can't deny, I'm looking forward to having the house to myself again.

Did anyone else spot the snazzy makeover our newsletter just got? Looking sharp, right? And guess what? We're turning up the volume – you’ll be getting the latest on Italy more regularly now. If you've got pals who are head over heels for Italy (and who isn't?), give them a nudge to sign up. Trust me, they'll thank you!

Now, August always gives me this early-fall vibe, which by the way, I totally dig. It's about time we prep for the harvest and zoom in on the culinary delights on Dolcevia.

Now, the rumor mill was buzzing this week. Word on the street? Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk were considering an Italian amphitheater for a showdown. Sounds like a gladiator match for the tech age, doesn't it? But alas, that’s not happening. Regardless, we still whipped up a piece about Italy's most picturesque amphitheaters because... why not?

Also, spotlight on some quaint villages in the Gran Sasso National Park in Abruzzo, and a feature on Camogli. And, I can't believe we hadn't covered Camogli till now! Shame on us, right?

That's it for now, ciao and have a great week!

Camogli whispers tales of the past with its colorful facades touching the sea. In the heart of the tourist season, it buzzes with life, but I seek tranquility and only visit when fall crashes waves against the old walls of Dragonara Castle. Then, when the beaches are nearly deserted and the air carries a salty scent, I feel the echo of 'the city of a thousand white sailing ships'. Nestled in the protective embrace of the vast Monte Portofino, the village offers a view of the magical Golfo Paradiso, a world away from the hustle of Genoa...

During the summer, I often take a walk behind my house up into the hills after dinner. The weather is pleasant and cool at that time, and it offers the best view of the mountains during sunset. Sometimes I go alone, but other times I go with my partner, M. We ride the scooter up to a panoramic spot to start our hike and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Gran Sasso and Monte Gemelli mountains. At times, a shepherd dog from Abruzzo, known as the Pastore Abruzzese, accompanies us on these walks...
